Welcome from Secretary
About Us
The Plant Tissue Culture Association of India (PTCA (I)) is an elite body of Plant Tissue Culture Scientists, several of whom are pioneers in this field and while others have established scientific credentials.

In the annual meeting the association invites aspirants to membership. The meeting of the association is coupled to a three day symposium on a theme related to plant tissue culture to which nearly 400 delegates are invited. This event thus brings together not only the members, but also the members of the academia, industry and research institutions to present and exchange achievements and views in plant tissue culture.

Welcome to Plant Tissue Culture Association (India)

The Plant Tissue Culture Association (India) [PTCA(I)] is a premier scientific society that unites researchers, educators, and industry professionals committed to advancing the frontiers of plant tissue culture and biotechnology in India. Established to promote scientific exchange and collaboration, PTCA(I) serves as a vibrant platform for sharing ideas, fostering innovation, and encouraging young scientists to contribute to the growth of plant sciences.

Over the years, PTCA(I) has played a pivotal role in promoting excellence in research and development across diverse areas such as plant tissue and cell culture, molecular biology, genomics, metabolomics, plant physiology, and biotechnology applications for agriculture and industry. The Association’s annual meetings and symposia bring together eminent scientists, students, and entrepreneurs to discuss cutting-edge developments and explore pathways for translating research into sustainable technologies.

PTCA(I) actively supports capacity building through workshops, interactive sessions, and opportunities for early-career researchers to present their work. It also seeks to strengthen academia–industry partnerships, recognizing the critical role of biotechnology in addressing challenges of food and nutritional security, climate resilience, and environmental sustainability.

With a strong network of dedicated members across the country, PTCA(I) continues to contribute to national priorities by promoting scientific excellence, nurturing innovation, and supporting India’s vision of becoming a global leader in biotechnology.
